So, it has been some time. A couple of minutes, at least. Meh. These Things Happen.
I had planned to pen a wondrous and well thought out essay on where I have been and why; then, simultaneously, I became both lazy and realistic in the sense that everyone has their own problems and have likely heard all mine before. So, instead, I'll offer up the reader's digest version.
Cynicism, you say? Surely not! Hah. I live in the Valley of Cynics.
The company I work for - a nice startup that has had a difficult time making sales - has recently been bought by IBM. We're all moving from a company of less than 50 people to... well... IBM size. My first date as a proper IBM employee is July 1. It's Canada Day. It will also be my Personal Day of Mourning. But, at least, still employed.
There are other possible major changes in my life to happen this month. Or not. Please see point 1 above.
But I haven't been entirely idle! I may have spent too long wallowing in self misery, but I have also been active and Generating New Ideas and Doing Shit Things. There will be posts on many of these! I'm actually looking forward to sharing some things again. With luck I will be able to return to a routine cadence of posting and interacting; I have so much sarcasm to share, and I just can't wait!
I nearly moved to Rochester, New York. By choice. But didn't.
Then I nearly packed up everything and decided to head for home, so to speak, and return to Canada. I found a place in Saint John, NB. Then Portage la Prairie, MB. Then Saskatoon, SK. As it turns out I'm still here in the US, with both Canadian and US passport renewals in the works.
I've backed out of all my theatre commitments. Part of me is sad about that. Another part is, decidedly, not sad, and I don't know what to make of that.
I've started writing again! I might share some of it.
I've started taking photos again! I will definitely share some of that. Most of it is film.
I'm still drinking coffee.
Way too much coffee.
And beer.
Remember: coffee is the drink that gets us through to the evening and beer.
Please expect to see me around again. I will do my best to get caught up!
