"Quaint Landscape"
Soft Pastel on Paper, 30cm x 40cm (11⅞" x 15¾")
While I was waiting for my new gouache painting (coming up soon) to dry thoroughly I didn't exactly feel like quitting for the day, so I grabbed my soft pastel sticks and did a quick landscape.
It is always fascinating to me, how painters get away with zero details, so I gave it a shot. This little painting is nothing but a collection of simplest shapes, values, and colors, yet the human brain reads it as an image of a landscape. Amazing, isn't it?
