"Autumn Glory" - A Gouache Painting

Today I want to share with you the third and last autumn motif for this year. This gouache painting was inspired by a photo taken by our friend Viktor @vikisecrets last week. Once again I dug deep into my paintbox; I just can't help myself, I gotta be me :-)

Heute möchte ich das dritte und letzte Herbstmotiv für dieses Jahr mit euch teilen. Die Inspiration für dieses Gouachegemälde kam von einem Foto unseres Freundes Viktor @vikisecrets aus der vergangenen Woche. Wieder mal habe ich kräftig im Farbkasten gewühlt; ich kann mir einfach nicht helfen und muss mir treu bleiben :-)

_{I started the painting with a very loose watercolor wash.
Ich begann das Bild mit einer ganz lockeren Aquarellierung.}

 

_{The dominating trunks and branches are laid on top with a rich dark gouache.
Die dominierenden Bäume und Äste werden mit dunkler Gouache darüber gemalt.}

 

_{Lots of smaller trunks and branches are only indicated with weak brush strokes.
Die Masse kleinerer Stämme und Äste werden mit schwachen Pinselstrichen nur angedeutet.}

 

_{The forest floor is covered in lots of colorful leaves.
Der Waldboden ist mit einer Unzahl bunter Blätter bedeckt.}

 

_{Now the tree foliage is created in multiple layers of stippled gouache.
Nun wird das Laub der Bäume mit mehreren Schichten getupfter Gouache erschaffen.}

 

_{Careful stippling of darks adds realism to the foliage. Light needs shadow.
Eintupfen von Dunkelheiten gibt der Belaubung Realismus. Licht braucht Schatten.}
