To be honest, I don't know how to start this post since it's been a long time since I've written, and I have to say, it feels strange—but in a good way. It's true that you always come back to where you were happy. It took me a while to decide whether or not to start writing again, since I was afraid I’d lost my “touch” for it, haha, but here I am. This time, I’m going to tell you about the surprise trip I took to visit my dad. Without further ado, let’s get started!

A while back, I moved to Brazil with my sisters, and my dad @morenow stayed in Venezuela. Later, he also came to Brazil, but to a different state, and by then it had already been about eight months since I’d seen him. I think most Venezuelans know how painful and difficult it is to be far from your loved ones, especially if it’s your dad or mom. And this trip wasn’t planned at all. Last week, I got four days off from work, and on top of that, I had just been paid, so I couldn’t pass up that opportunity. That’s how I got ready and set out on my first solo trip, in a country I’m just getting to know.

I’m a pretty timid person in the sense that I don’t like going out alone or walking down the street by myself—it really scares me. But this time I stepped out of my comfort zone, and I have to say I absolutely loved this solo experience. I spent over 12 hours on the bus, and when I got to where my dad was, I walked right up to his front door, and there he was. I got overwhelmed with emotion and, of course, I cried. You have no idea how much I talked with my dad—in just one day, we caught up on all the gossip and everything that had happened.

While I was there those few days, he had to work, but even though he was sleepy and tired, he took great care of me. We went out for a walk, and I got to see a freight train for the first time in my life—maybe that’s not surprising to anyone, but it was to me, ha ha ha. And even though we couldn’t go to any nice places, just being with my dad was enough for me.

The day I had to go back, we stayed up late chatting in front of the house like two gossipy old folks—oh no, wait, I remember that just as it was time for me to leave, I suddenly wasn’t sleepy anymore, ha ha ha. Once I was on the bus heading back to my sisters’ place, I was able to take lots of beautiful photos of the scenery. I also had time to reflect on what a wonderful father I have—even though we’re far apart, he never leaves me alone and always gives me advice. I love my old man so much. I wish parents could live forever.

Well, folks, this has been a pretty casual post. Like I said, I don't know if I've lost my touch, haha. Remember to cherish the time you spend with your loved ones and give them a hug—we never know when we might be apart.
