BTC vs BCH network hash rates, an interesting development
I decided to dig deeper as the BTC unconfirmed TX count has climbed 20000 in the past hour and is currently climbing at an insane rate. What is going on.
If you look at the network hash rates the picture gets a bit clearer.
BTC has rate has dropped from about 12000PH/s on Nov 10 to 6300PH/s as I type this, it has almost halved!
At the same time BCH has rate has climbed from 3900PH/s to 6400PH/s in the same time frame
My reading in this is that post fork failure and the climb/pump of BCH (Whatever you want to call it) a lot of hash power has moved away from BTC and due to the huge difficulty that is having serious effects on the network. If this drop in hash rate continues it could have serious implications for BTC as changes in difficulty can take a while to occur!
Does anyone know when the drop in hash rate becomes critical?
