Was in New Orleans of May 2011 and was in great interest to do tour of the Post-Katrina. This is a tour of all about the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina that struck the area few years prior.I was searching for a good company to do this and found great reviews on tripadvisor of this one company called Tours By Isabelle New Orleans or Tours by Isabelle. This company is specialized in making airboat swamp tour, group tour, plantation tours.
This tour I was picked up by private van for a small group and it was 3 1/2 hours of incredible sights and information that allowed my everyone to leave New Orleans with as true a picture of the devastation caused by Katrina as possible. Tour given without bias, and made interesting by the driver/guide named Stanley who never ran out of facts and answers to everyone’s questions. I think it would be impossible to find a better tour on this most difficult subject. I would definitely visit New Orleans again and try other tours offered by this company. You still get an idea of the destruction and path of the water during Katrina. This tour, though, is about so much more than Katrina’s destruction.

This Katrina tour really gave me an insight into what happened, why it happened, and the impact it had on the people. We were amazed by the skyscrapers and hospitals still standing vacant, the numerous homes boarded up, and the stories of the people who had to stay on their roof for days, without food, water, and the constant companionship
of mosquitos. Go on the tour for a wonderful view of the city through a knowledgeable guide, Stanley who lives in the city and really knows it.I would suggest taking the city tour on your first day on your trip to give you run down of city and then decide what other aspects of New Orleans you want to explore after. I wish I took the plantation and bayou tours, but we ran out of time.
The other reason for choosing this company is that I am not a fan of big tour buses of over 40 people with cameras and getting in everyone’s way. I like a more personal experience. Tours By Isabelle was able to provide this and was highly successful.

Also they provide Plantation Tours such as the All Day Eastbank Pantation Tour and shows you great history of the city.
Also they provide Swamp tours, where you get to go into a swamp boat and zoom around the wet lands of the state of Cajun Country, There is also an airboat trip where you get to ride in a high speed swamp boat over the swamps of Louisana. If your time in New Orleans is really flexible, you can do all of the tours offered by Tours By Isabelle. They will offer a combination tours for your liking. Where you can do a City Tours, Plantation and a type of boat tour in one day or two. It would be the best way you can see most of New Orleans. As some areas of the city are hard to visit when on own as you may not know where to go.

As per my official review. i took this company for a post katrina tour of New Orleans in June 2011 Was a good tour as it was 4 hours long, cover a huge area including the lower nine. Got to see Fats Dominos house and rebuilt areas made by Brad Pitt.
Tour guide Stanley was very informative and interesting to listen to. Very helpful and polite.
I highly recommend Tours by Isabelle to others.
