🥇 A glimpse of Filandia, the prettiest town in Quindío by coquicoin@coquicoin

Is Filandia the prettiest town in Quindío? Honestly, I can’t say for sure. But Filandia and its neighbor Salento are often considered the prettiest towns in Quindío, one of the departments that make up the Colombian Coffee Region. I visited both on the same day, a little over a year ago, when we took a quick trip to Pereira and spent one of the days on an excursion to explore a bit of the Coffee Region. We made a brief stop in Salento in the morning, you can read about it in A quick visit to Salento, a beautiful town in the Colombian coffee region. In the case of Filandia, we visited it in the afternoon to have lunch.

🥈 The most sinister castle 📸🏰/ El castillo más tenebroso🚩📍 (En-Es) by biologistbrito@biologistbrito

I am still undecided as to which will be my 100th castle. I have a few in reserve that I haven’t published yet because I consider them special—for instance, 'Castro Marim,' which ranks in my top 10 favorites. It is the only one that features a torture museum and offers a glimpse into daily life during the Middle Ages. Furthermore, Castro Marim (the town) served as a place of 'exile' of sorts; people from other parts of Portugal were brought there, only to be assigned to a castle and forced labor.📸🏰

🥉 Donde el genio nació: Casa Natal de Goya // Where the genius was born: Goya's Birthplace by palomap3@palomap3

On 30 March 1746, Francisco de Goya y Lucientes was born; he was one of the most revolutionary painters of his time, whose art continues to inspire all the arts. His family lived in Zaragoza, but that year they had moved 40 kilometres to Fuendetodos due to his father’s work. It was there that he was born and spent his early years until they returned to the Aragonese capital.
