Today's featured posts take us to the city of Troyes in France, a mountain town in Neuquén, Argentina, and a trip to Kutaisi, Georgia. We also visit other parts of the world like Cuba, Indonesia, the Philippines, Poland, and Austria... So much to see! :)
Thank you all for pinning your posts on the Worldmappin map! I wish you a great day! 😃❤️
Troyes has a history that goes way back. I have looked up some of the interesting facts with the help of ChatGPT and wikipedia.
Around 50 BC, the Romans built a town on the place where Troyes is now. The town, called Augustobona Tricassium became an important place for the Roman empire. This means that people have been living here for over 2000 years! Can you imagine that!
The name Malleo comes from Mapudungun, the language of the Mapuche people native to Patagonia. Its meaning is "water that runs between stones." It is the name of the river that rises at the foot of the magnificent Lanin Volcano as an outlet for Lake Tromen, almost on the border between Argentina and Chile.
Last year, my boyfriend and I had the chance to travel to Kutaisi, a city in Sakartvelo (Georgia). It's not the capital, but still a pretty big city—full of charm, hills, history, and surprises. We didn’t go with a strict plan, just the intention to explore and see what the place had to offer.
Let's have more Pins of the world with Worldmappin!
