Hi everyone. It's @lauramica here to share with you our Wednesday Travel Digest. This time, our featured posts take us through the town of Tarifa in the Strait of Gilbraltar, a winter walk in Sollefteå, Sweden and a tour of a cathedral in Alessandria, Italy. As always, we also go around the world with some posts from Argentina, Kenya, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Venezuela, among others.
Thanks to all of you for putting your posts on the map, I wish you a great day ❤️.
ne of the goals I set for myself on my travels was to reach one of the southernmost cities on the European continent, the city of Tarifa in the province of Cadiz located in the autonomous community of Andalusia. One of the closest points to the African continent in the Strait of Gibraltar, the area is presented as a gateway and link between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This visit was not only planned to see this city but also to tour the surrounding areas, areas of beautiful white beaches and small coastal towns with the special charm of this southern part of the country. The geography of the place seemed very different to what I had seen in areas close to this region, presenting formations modified by the movement of the tectonic plates and the separation of both continents by them. From nearby Cadiz and driving first along the E-5 and then taking the N-340, I arrived at an area of large beaches where the intense blue color of the sea gave me an idea of what awaited me. Upon arrival, Tarifa presented itself as an intense white colour characteristic of the towns of the south and a very defined urban structure up to the port and also to its southernmost point, the island of Tarifa.

Hello everyone, back again with another tour in Tortona, Alessandria, Italy. And today is the first time I went to The Cathedral of Tortona the Duomo Square with the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace. The Cathedral of Tortona is a Catholic cathedral in the city of Tortona, Piedmont, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Saint Lawrence. It is the bishop's seat of the Diocese of Tortona.
The time to start building was in 1575 and completed in 1592. It was consecrated by Bishop Cesare Gambara in the presence of Our Lady of Tortona, Christina of Denmark, in 1583, at which time it was already half-built. And on October 1, 1891, the ordained Luigi Orione was appointed as the curator of the cathedral.
