New Year’s resolutions are supposed to be easy to keep to within the first few days right?
My New Year’s resolution is fairly simple - get fit and get healthy. I don’t have any desire to bulk up or spend hours at the gym but I would like to shed a couple of pounds around the midriff and jowls. Mainly though I just want be healthier and happier and I think a big part of that will be in me spending more time doing light exercise and less time staring at a screen.
One of my big problems over the year just gone has been the lack of sleep I’ve been suffering from and I think a lot of that comes down to poor habits in regards screen time and not enough moving around.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a busy guy, I work hard for a living and I’ve got a young family so I’m tired each and every day but more in a stressed out kind of a way than a way that leads to me going to bed and getting a good nights sleep.
The plan then is to do a few miles cycling and a bit of work on the rowing machine on top of 10k steps a day. However, the best laid plans often go awry and these ones were no different. About a mile into my first cycle and I got a puncture! c'est la vie at least I got my steps up walking the bike back and I’ll try again at the weekend when I’ve had time to fix the puncture
