~I worked alone and I passed the subject!~
Being alone does not make you work hard but it makes you work smart.
In the beginning of the semester, we already knew that we were going to make a feasibility study in our entrepreneur class. In the process of making the study, our professor gave us the freedom to decide if we want to work as a group of three or work as an individual. I decided to work alone because I know it would be easier for me to work alone and at the same time faster for me if all of my ideas are used in the study. In another way around if I ran out of ideas I could seek help and exchange ideas with my classmates.
I tried to venture myself into this study alone because I literally told myself if others can do it then why can't I? I challenged myself to make it alone because if anything fails then I do not have the reason to blame anybody but myself.
Working alone was a blessing in disguise since I have less stress. I own my time and I do not have to worry about other people but myself in working the study. The venture requires an all-out effort and seek connections just to have the requirements. I learned a lot from this study and I would like to share what I have learned throughout the semester.
PROS OF WORKING ALONE
You own your time; you do not have to wait for others.
No friendship will be broken
Your time management skill will be sharpened
You will be forced to think deeper
You will be matured in dealing with tasks
Your ideas are not limited since all your bright ideas will be used
You will learn more from doing all the work
The credit is yours
CONS OF WORKING ALONE
The expense of the study will be solely yours
You will be seeking help since you lack skills and knowledge to some chapters.
Your workload will be heavy since you do not have someone to delegate task
It will be time-consuming for making all the chapters alone.
In the process of making and later at the defense moment, I heard a lot from my classmates; Some were blaming one another for not making their task. Some told me that one does not show up in the promised time because they have other priorities, and some friendships were broken because of the same reason stated previously. If only they just communicate each other properly then I think they could find a solution rather than making the team-leader make all do the work. I believe they learned something from it and they enhanced to stretch more their patience.
When in doubt, I suggest you work alone and take it as a challenge. I am encouraging you to believe in yourself that you could make it alone.
