After winning $4 at my poker game this morning/afternoon, I decided to reward myself with a trip to my favorite coin shoppe before I mosied to Debbie's house for dinner. I walked in and ask Joe what the best deal in the shop was. He pointed to a box that said $18 on it. Inside the box of odds and ends, I found a 1990 Proof Eisenhower Prestige Set.
I usually get $25 for the silver dollar alone, so buying the whole set for $18 was a no-brainer. When I was in high school I once wrote an essay about President Eisenhower, and I've always loved the design on this centennial dollar.
I may keep this set and sell my silver dollar at the next coin club meeting for $25. Anytime I can make a $7 profit, on an $18 investment, I jump on it. It's not like the banks are giving me 3¢ on the dollar per year for interest, bastards! That's why I still bend over and pick up a penny when I spot one on the ground, that's four months interest. 🤔
