This telenovela, written by Fernando Gaitán, along with Liliana Hernández, and directed by Mario Ribero, tells the story of Beatriz "Betty" Pinzón Solano, a woman who, not being considered beautiful, dedicated her life to studying, thus gaining the necessary merits to forge a future through her own efforts. Actor Jorge Enrique Abello recently stated that the telenovela "Betty" wasn't originally planned as it is today. It was created without any vision and solely to fill a gap in the broadcast schedule. Initially, only 30 episodes were planned to fill airtime, but it only took a week for it to become a massive ratings hit, leading the writers to extend the episodes and the storyline, which didn't follow the same plot we know now. I think that's the least relevant aspect, though it doesn't diminish its amazingness.
