In my usual habit of wanting to complete a task as soon as possible, I left my sewing machine a while ago, some minutes past 10pm. I could barely see with the dim light and I had a headache. My back aches too from working all day and my legs are tired from pedaling the sewing machine. It was later I realized I had fixed my electric pedal.
I was making a corset top and it was going very well until I discovered it didn't quite fit properly. I instantly became frustrated because I suspected this was going to happen but I refused to go with my instincts and stop for the day. I went ahead with the sewing only to make an irreversible mistake. I eventually left the corset and retired for the night.
I'm mad at myself for making a mistake that would have been avoided but then again it's just my first attempt. Who says I have to get it right the very first time? I'll continue sewing it tomorrow and hopefully finish. I put a lot of pressure on myself when things don't go how I want in sewing and other aspects of my life. I need to chill, it's not that serious.
It seems everyone else was chill today. I had gone to the market earlier in the day and surprisingly the sellers were nice. They were very mean to me last week when I was asking for directions on how to get to the tailoring stalls. I had walked aimlessly and came home frustrated because I wasn't able to get anything on my shopping list.
Today however, was quite different. Sellers kept asking me what I wanted and directed me to stalls where I could get all my supplies. Was it because I looked different today? Or did I not smile at them last week? Maybe they were all in a good mood. Whatever it was, I loved it. I got everything on my list and I'm better acquainted with the market.
Everyone is happy when they take a chill pill. Goodnight from this side.
