I've become fairly adept at using SketchUp to design future woodworking projects. This built-in bookcase, which is intended for the large window in our living room, is one of maybe 3 pieces that I've designed so far which I'm really looking forward to building. I have several tools still in my to-be-bought list that I'd need to get before I can do it, but I'm not too far from having what I need before choosing (and saving for) the material for it.
I think I'd like to redesign the big cabinet doors on the right and left ends, though. They're too wide for just a single-door design like that and would likely warp over time and over-stress the hinges from the weight. So I'll be updating those to a double-door design of some sort before I even price materials.
The floating entertainment center is not mine. It's just a place holder for the one I plan to design, which will likely be quite a bit larger.
