There is always a fear factor that creeps into the mind of a lot of us when we want to embark on a journey or project that we do not have confident in ourselves about. There is a battle in our minds of whether to go for it or to stay in our comfort zone. Oftentimes, we always get defeated by our fears. This is not because we did not have what it takes to achieve our desired results but we limit ourselves because of the fear of failure.

Some years ago, when I was in the secondary school I used to enjoy peanuts a lot to the extent that a day will not go by without buying from a favourite vendor of mine. As at that time, I had a friend that we always patronize this woman every blessed day that we go to school. The process of buying and eating peanuts became a routine for us that we always look up to spending some of our money to buy peanuts to enjoy during the break hours. We could spend our last dime on it because it is what we have have grown to love.
After a while my friend's mother noticed how much love we had for peanuts and she dedicated her time to teach us how to make it. We're happy for this opportunity and we had the idea of making our peanuts and packaging it for other students to also buy and by extension making more money for ourselves. But this plan was not achieved because we were afraid that our friends and other students may not patronize us because they might feel it may not be up to the standard of the one they are used to buying at the school cafeteria.

Sadly, it was not up to the end of the session that a junior colleague in my school started making and selling her own peanuts and trust me she was making a lot of money. The peanuts get sold out even before break hours as students from different classes would come to her first thing in the morning to place an order and she delivers it to them as soon as she can before the start of classes for the day. In fact she became a big competition to the woman that was selling for students before in the school cafeteria.
Interestingly, my friend and I also patronize her and are peanuts were really nice but we were sure and convinced that if we had not let fear kill our idea we would have made better peanuts than her.
The four letter word FEAR is the reason so many business ideas did not manifest. The major reason why we did not start our peanut business as at that time was very simple and it is because of fear. Fear has a way of making a person feel he or she lacks the adequate resource (mental, intellectual, financial etc) to do what he or she can ordinarily do.
Fear provides us with numerous reasons why we should not make that first move and we often believe these reasons rather than believing in our strength and ability that we have all it takes to do whatever we set our minds to do. Fear put you in a position where you become comfortable and not pay attention to the fact that you need to start pursuing your dreams at a particular time. Fear have knocked a lot of people down and some may not be able to pick themselves up if they do not defeat the fear factor in their lives

Fear does not care whether you are young or old, poor or rich, man or woman - it has the ability to attack and deter anyone that permits it from rising to the peak of their lives. The tactics that fear employees is that it will attack the mind of its victims and put a feeling of "it is impossible", "I can't do it" and so much more in their minds.
Therefore, in order not to give room for fear in our lives we must work on our mind and never allow the tiny voice of fear to win over you. You must focus on what you want to do and believe that it is possible irrespective of all the challenges that may occur.
To be successful in life, it is important to have a strong resistance against fear.
