In my house, and in the house that I grew up in, we have never had a pet and I have never had one, and at the moment, I don't feel like I am missing one because I don't know what it looks like to miss one.
It not because I do not like animals. My friends do have pets and I can see why they enjoy having them around. I have seen the way the care for their dogs and cats as if they gave birth to them or sort of family, and honestly speaking, I understand the attachment that they do have for them. There is a good feeling with going back home and your animals are happy to welcome you. I have seen that happen to my friends countless times.
As a busy person that I am. I just don't have that feeling. I play with my friends dogs, but haven't planned to get one. Not something I have thought about. And when a friend of mine told me to get a pet, the first thing that crossed my mind was the responsibility that is attached with it. I have to feed it almost always, tidy up the space daily, be attentive to its health and make sure it is constantly in a safe space. These are not things I can ignore after a stressful day and waking up to early to go out.
That part would probably be the hardest for me. And to be honest, I know my self more than others do to accept that I would rather not carry on the responsibilities that comes with it when I do not really plan to take care of a pet to start with. And it will be wickedness if I brought the pet home simply because I play with my friends own and they enjoyed having one around.
And maybe in the feature, that might change if I marry and my wife loves pets. But for now, I know what I want. And no pets for now.
At the moment, I am comfortable okay without one. I don't hate any and I appreciate others who have one and are taking proper care of them, not those starving their pets. I don't appreciate those ones. And it is obvious that some people tends to find companionships having pets around. I just do not think I need one.
