Every year the first thing in my area to bloom is the forsythia. There is a little walkway not too far from my house that has a long forsythia bush on one side. It has become basically a tradition to shoot my girls there every spring. It hasn't bloomed yet this year, but it is getting close so I thought it would be fun to look back on previous photos I have done there.
Like I mentioned the walkway actually only has bushes on one side, so if I take a full shot like this I will often copy and flip the side so that it is a row. Adding the reflection of the second bush is important for the image to be believable.
We are such a serious bunch! Not actually but I submitted these for book covers so I tend to go for the calm or pensive expressions in my photos when shooting for covers.
I think this year though we will go with a happy smiling theme to switch it up a bit.
Also looking at these photos is strange for me because yellow is actually my least favorite color. This is perhaps the one time a year I have predominantly yellow images.
What colors do you not use often? Is there ever a time you do end up going with those colors and why?
