I remember spending a lot of time on old school shooters like Musha, Thuder Force, and the most difficult of which I would say was R-Type. I think over the years that these sorts of games became much much more difficult and between Cuphead, which is more a game of pattern memorization and reaction, and the bullet hell games, which are exactly what they sound like... i don't have the patience for them anymore.
You are an old school gamer... do you recall / have one of those "football" handheld games where everyone was just a red dot on a screen and you had to run across said screen 10 times for a touch down? The machine itself was the size of a gameboy and played only that one game.
