The cobra is the most poisonous snake in India.its colour is sometimes yellow, sometimes brown with dirty, white underside. it is about 1.5cm long .when it is irritated it raises up the front part of its body, spread out the eight front pairs of ribs at the sides,so that a shield shaped hood is formed below the head .The rest of the body is curled round ,and this gives the creature a firm support.
