The Nation is rightfully extremely upset about the mass shooting in Las Vegas.. I want to talk about us trying to make sense of it. Firstly, I acknowledge somethings just don't make sense.
The accused shooter is a 64-year-old retired accountant who dealt real-estate and gambled frequently. He had no known political or religious agenda. No one that knew him thinks he had much interest in guns beyond one trip to a skeet shoot. He didn’t hunt and had no military background. Yet, he figured out which guns to buy, found the correct ammo, and he reportedly obtained all of it on his own. He also knew the range of the guns and understood what a good angle would be to effectively do a lot of damage. He picked a venue, got the perfect hotel room, he set up cameras to watch for police, managed to load and shoot the powerful and difficult to manage guns for over 10 minutes apparently without so much as a jam - all the while monitoring the hallway and killing himself prior to being arrested. Despite the police department's nearly perfect response.
One blurry picture shows he might have attended a march with feminists, but it is far from clear that he held any strong political views of any sort.
Well if the facts seem outrageous, factor in that many of the eyewitnesses also disagree with the story.
Acting alone, with no obvious motive, no evidence of any of the required tactical skills and no clear knowledge of what it would take to pull it off. A man of average intelligence and in moderate physical condition pulled off the most horrific mass shooting in the history of the USA. Ask yourself this... Would you have known how to do this even if you had a motive?
I am not jumping to conclusions but I have more questions than answers. I guess it could have been a "Perfect Storm" situation where the guy got "lucky" with his plan. It was a horrible crime and it is always worse when we can't explain it.
I didn't add any videos to this post, because I don't have the skills to evaluate if they have been edited and if they are accurate.
I am not interested in debating gun control and if you bring it up in the comments, I will not respond. (Others might though, so I am not saying it can't be brought up, I am just not interested in talking about it)
I am curious to talk about where your trust level is at with the story and if for some reason it was "spun" Why?
