This is pretty interesting and the beginning of a vision I've held for Steem for a long time. Communities and Tokens and a step away from one size fits all. The debate has been going on since the earliest days of Steem, what should be rewarded what should get visibility, who should earn and for what reasons. We never stop debating it.
A long time ago when SteemIt, Inc first started to talk about SMTs the idea of people being able to customize front-ends to suite their own needs has been a vision that made sense to me. The team at PALNET is launching their own Community Token and Site.

The benefits of these tokens are a fresh reward pool that isn't diluted by whalestake, bidbots and delegation. They can set up their own community standards and rules, moderation, inflation, and whatever they want to do, that they think will benefit their community.
