We can now see how much voting power we have!
If you look at the top right of the screen under your name and profile picture you will see a yellow bar with a percentage under it. This is how much voting power you have. When it is higher your vote is worth more and when it drops you can wait for it to recharge if you want to get full value for your votes.
I have been (VERY) roughly using 10 or so votes a day on this site when I can but have not been paying attention to how efficient I have been doing. As long as I used enough I was happy. But now I can easily see of well I am utilising my voting power and be more proficient as a vote. At the very least I can make sure it reads 80 or 90% before I quit for the day.
How Does Voting Power Work?
If you are new to Leo you might not know how voting power works. Basically your vote is worth a certain amount of Leo depending on how much Leo you have staked. Every time you cast a 100% vote you use 2% of your voting power. This recharges constantly as a rate of 20% a day. This means you can use 10 votes at 100% power if you really space out your votes properly. But you don't need to be perfect, your votes will comes back to 100% so don't stress about using more or less votes for the day. Just try to use 10 or so so you get your curation rewards. And remember we switched to a linear curve for voting so don't stress and vote when you can.
I Just Want To Vote And Not Worry About MY Voting Power
Then do it. Honestly give out 100s of votes a day if you want. You don't need to worry about your voting power, it is just how much your vote is worth and how much you will make by curating. But if you don't care about that and just want to vote and comment then feel free to do it. You can use 100 votes in an hour or don't vote at all for a week. Your power will be there when you want to use it. Even if you go on a vote splurge and use 100% of your voting power it will all come back in 5 days of no voting. So I repeat do NOT stress about it. Leo is here to stay and when you want to optimise your earnings you can switch strategy at any time.
This is another upgrade to an already great site that will make it easier to use. I will be using it myself as I vote for comments and posts. It will be a useful tool, but still not as useful as that word counter... man I love that word counter.
