Cybersecurity Careers in High Demand (An Interactive HeatMap)

Given the increased attention around Information Security and some of the high profile breaches over the past few years, Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand. For U.S. based professionals, there are some very useful tools available from NIST, including a Cybersecurity Supply/Demand Heat Map by State and/or Metro area that provides an excellent snapshot of Cybersecurity talent gaps across the country.

Available through Cyberseek (http://cyberseek.org), the interactive mapping portion of the site provides an online tool designed to make it easier for cybersecurity job seekers to find openings and for employers to identify potential pockets of available skilled workers.

As expected, and consistently depicted across almost all areas across the country, the rapidly growing cybersecurity job market continues to have many more openings than experienced/certified (e.g. CISSP, CISA) recruits to fill them.
