Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits. Interestingly, I didn't like watermelon until five years ago.
Here's a back story of why i didn't like watermelon.
I was 15 the first time I ate one. Maybe the first time I could remember, but it's not a fruit you can grab off a stall in your street.
You go to the market.
I bought one on my way back from school one day. Apparently there are things you look at to pick a juicy and good one.
I didn't know that.
So my first experience was eating a really bad watermelon which made me decided all watermelons were like that and I didn't like it.
And that was my reply to all other chances of eating watermelon.
When I was 20, my Dad got to know my "thingy" for watermelon and he took it as a mission to make me like it.
Dad does that a lot. When he hears a child of his doesn't like to eat something; just make sure it's something that doesn't really had nutrients to you. He will let it go.
But, if it's good for you.. Oh my oh my. There will be a lot of petting, teasing and manipulating to make you like them.
It always works.
I loved watermelon after realising the first I had was just a bad one -Thanks to my Dad.
Some people eat their watermelon after removing the seeds -my family
Some people eat the whole thing so nothing goes to waste- me
I guess my watermelon days will be around for a long time.
