"Sweetheart, can you tell me again why we are going to this auction?" I queried.
"We don't even have the money to buy the least thing there."
Richard squeezed me into his arms from behind, kissing and pecking my neck.
"But we get to see those rare artifacts honey " He said.
"You are not interested in any artifacts, the only thing you want to see is the dragon egg and how can you be gullible to believe they are displaying a dragon egg, uhn ?"
"Dragons are myth. There's no egg dear!" I added.
"You can't say that with this rich people, We hear what they want us to believe." He said in defense
"The only reason I knew about this auction was because one of attendant had to be replaced at the last minute."
"And you were at the right place at the right time." I said, finishing his statement before he does.
"Yes, I know . You have said that for the millionth time already." I said
I finished the dishes and look back at him. His face pleading for my approval.
Okay! Let's go get ready
It's 10pm and the auction is starting. After an hour of the Rich and popular faces waltzing in, each one trying so hard to look spectacular than the other, they greet one another showcasing their latest collection of diamond neckpiece or anklets.
Finally, it was time to begin the auction.
Richard was staying on the opposite side of the room, so we faced each other, dressed in a silver attendant wear, holding placeholders for the guests.
It was all fun and exciting, each person trying to outbid the other until one person takes the price home.
"Next on the agenda is the Dragon egg " the auctioneer announced.
I and Richard held gaze for some seconds then he smiled.
A chest was brought forward and right there, even I believed I was about to see a dragon egg.
The chest opened, and in it was a shining steel... It was a dagger.
I got confused. But not as weird as the look on Richard's😁
The bidding war had begun, apparently rich knew what they were bidding for. A 3000 year old dagger called " "Dragon egg"
