Have you ever been in an healthy Competition?
Growing up I have heard about this and also hear people say things like it doesn't end well and it gets unhealthy as time goes.
I do not agree.
Secondary school(high school) was fun for me. I had colleagues to compete it with and it was so healthy now that I think of it.
I doubt I can ever get that kind of moment now.
We would study hard just so we can get the first position in class, and at the end of each term when one of us comes first...
We say things like ...
"Oh goodness, I was so close, I should have got the first position"
Or
" You're lucky I am bad at Geology, my score was an average on that subject. When I work on it next year, I will be getting that position "
We all laugh and promise to get the first position the following term.
Before leaving the school compound, we take turns looking at each other report sheets to know who had the highest mark on each subjects, that way we know who to go when we have a problem on that subject so we can do better next year.
No one hated each other, every one got better each year, sometimes we would have a tie.
No one's opinion was discarded. Everyone felt safe in our small circle.
I wonder how we got so smart doing something like that then.😁😁 (huhn, bunch of smart ass)
Lol, the other students hated us.
But we never noticed, so it was fine.
I missed it. I miss them.
I have so much confidence in myself, I believe I can do anything and everything I want to do.
Sometimes I think it's a curse..😀
But looking back now, I think that period and environment foster a lot confidence in me.
And I missed it.
And I am lazy now😕
