James Redman woke up slowly.
It was 7 a.m, the telephone was ringing.
He fumbled to get up from bed, cursing whoever might have disturbed his sleep, He didn't get home until 4am this morning, he was out all night drinking; it helps "de- stress" (he had always told himself)and now they wouldn't let him sleep.
"Hello," James said into the phone while trying to find a balance.
"Good morning James," How was you night?
It was Mrs.Collins, the community matchmaker.
"Ohh, morning Mrs.Collins." He tries to sound enthusiastic.
"I found a girl and she's agreed to a brunch today by 11am."
"I am sending you the address, make sure you, put an effort" She said.
"Thank You , Mrs. Collins." He replied as he returned the receiver.
Now he was excited
James Redman was 45 years old and single. He works as a sales man at the mall. He earns enough to take care of himself and he has a weird look.
People call him weird. And this pushed them away from him.
He has never been in a relationship. James awkwardness gets in his way on every date he had been to since he was 20.
He had an "almost sex" scenario with a hooker who stole his savings from the piggy bank after tying him up for fun.
Things might have been rough for James, but he has been looking forward this match and he his going to do everything to make things work out.
But first, he needs to deal with a bad hangover and a hysteric look.
James walked into the restaurant, refreshed -He had never looked better.
The restaurant wasn't crowded so he could see his date staring through the glass. He recognised her from the picture Mrs. Collins had sent.
She was more beautiful in person, he still couldn't think of a reason why a woman as beautiful as her would agree to a date with him.
Didn't she see his picture
Well, all that's about to be answered.
"Good day Emily" He said as he helped himself to a seat.
She smiled.
"Good day James," she replied.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting?" He inquired."
"Not at all."
"Ok, Let's order something first."
"I hope you're hungry cause I am famished" He said with excitement.
"Oh Yes" she smiled.
"Can you help me with the menu?" She added.
"It's right in front of you" He replied.
She placed her hand on the table trying to find the Menu.
Right then, was when James realized his date was blind.
