The first transaction of bitcoin was in May 2010. A guy called Laszlo Henyecz used 10,000 bitcoin to buy a $25 pizza...... So that's like a billion dollar pizza!!??!!
In Iceland, Ecuador and Bolivia they have been completely banned.
I thought bitcoin transactions were anonymous, apparently all transactions are public and permanent, it's just that the users identity isn't disclosed
