4 minutes and 20 seconds.... That's all I ask! If you watch one thing today, this is it.
Taken from the 1940 film - "The Great dictator", Charlie Chaplin gives, what is in my opinion, one of the greatest movie speeches of all time. Its just as poignant now as it was then.
To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
Ever noticed that in all historical photos of war and "the front-line", you never EVER see the people that brought us to this point?
You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Remember, it is us, the people that gives "THEM" power over us. The moment we stop playing their game, the game ends! We choose to play along and we can choose to stop at any time.
I'm not saying finding a new game to play would be easier, but wouldn't it be nice if you could make the rules to your own game.
