A Day Off… Really? 😅

Today is Sunday: a day of rest — or the Lord’s Day, depending on what you believe. But is it really a day of rest? Not for me!

It’s the day I load up backpacks so heavy they could go hiking without me, then haul them to the washing machine. It’s also the day I tackle the bedding, which, of course, won’t fit in my machine. So later, I’ll be carrying it all like a pack mule and trekking across town… all for the glorious reward of sleeping in clean, fresh-smelling sheets. The finer things in life. 🧺

I’ll let the morning rush pass first, when all the moms are out with their laundry baskets. I’ll go a little later — the laundromat I use is open 24/7. Laundry doesn’t care about business hours.

As usual, once the machines are running, I’ll wait at the bar next door with a little coffee. It’s 8°C, but not too cold for the season — just chilly enough to enjoy the coffee and wish I’d brought a scarf. ☕️

And tomorrow, it’s back to work after a little week off. It’s not exactly my dream job, but it pays the bills and gives me a chance to see people and have conversations face to face. A nice change from the internet — at least people don’t disappear when the Wi-Fi goes down. 😄

I’m also going to get back to doing a bit more manual post curation. I’ll use my bot mainly to spot interesting posts, so I don’t have to read thousands of them — although sometimes it feels like that’s its actual job. I still need to reorganize everything.

I’ll save automated curation for the times when I’m much busier. For now, until February, I’ll be working part-time, except on Wednesdays, when I’ll have a full day. The rest of the week, I’ll only be working four hours a day, which should leave me a little more time for my projects.

So, a Sunday off… hauling, laundry, walking, and coffee. I don’t think I quite understand the concept of a day off. 😅
