Burirum, a province that never before in life I thought I could come to for leisure. It's just a little far from where I live and it just sounds quite hot for what I have heard about Isaan (Northeastern Thai) in general. In addition, they're known for the ruins, historic site, and temples which for me personally is not that much of a 'must-visit' kind of attractions.
Burirum must-visit
My boyfriend got an appointment with a friend in Burirum so that's the only reason we visited this time. We stayed in the city, and we stay a little outside where it's more chill. We already visited a few food places that I think it's worth visiting if you're in town. I have shared about Volcano Pad Thai here and another place for great old-school Thai coffee and an X donut here.. Both are great. Highly recommended.
Phutara Resort & spa
Now we heading out of town and our friend recommend we stay at this resort that it almost sounds like a natural or wellness retreat or something similar. We got our own small house for ourselves with a private parking spot attached to it too. Every house got a balcony, with a canal passing through. The rice field view with all the farm and agriculture area. It's just so peaceful and breathtaking.
Not to mention, you have pick those rooms with jacuzzi so you can relax to the fullest! of if you fancy, walk out up front a bit then you will find this massage place where you get a massage by a pond outside. Can't imagine how good that would feel!
After we settled in the bed room and organized the stuff, we went out and walk around. It's spacious! and after we kind of analyzed the space a little, we came up to a conclusion that this place is sustainable. They got their own meat/milk from the cow, chickens, and their own veggies from vegetable farms. Got places to stay, a water well to save when they need to. This just can't go wrong.
Phutara Restaurant and cafe
They have all kinds of food offered here. Thai, western like steak, burgers, coffee to juices to alcoholic drinks. We got a plate of dry aged beef with Northeastern style dipping sauce, and a bottle of cold craft beer. What I like the most besides the food itself is where I can sit, eat and enjoy the view and the nature truly. This huge swing seat is perfect. Even more lovely when it's almost sunset and we can just enjoy the vibe outside waiting for that golden sun kiss.
The service is real good as well. They treat you almost like you're in a fine dining restaurant or that sort of place.
Phutara Resort and Spa, I love the place truly and would love to go back there if I'm ever in town. Great for a weekend or even a whole week getaway. Good food, good air, good service and good night sleep. Can't go wrong and I surely recommend.
