Sometimes photography is not really about finding something extraordinary. Sometimes, it is simply about noticing what is already there.
I was looking at the sky when this particular cloud caught my attention. At first, it was just another beautiful cloud floating quietly above me. But the longer I looked at it, the more it started to resemble Cinderella—almost like the shape of a person in a flowing dress, standing in the middle of the sky.
That little moment made me stop and take a photo.
For the edited version, I wanted to bring out the dreamy feeling that I felt when I first noticed the cloud. I edited the photograph using Adobe Lightroom and Snapseed, mainly working with the tones, contrast, and overall mood. I didn't want to completely change the scene—I just wanted the edit to express how the sky felt to me at that moment.
And honestly, I think that's one of the most enjoyable things about photography.
A photograph doesn't always have to show exactly what something is. Sometimes, it shows what we imagine it to be.
Maybe someone else will look at this cloud and see a bird, a mountain, a face, or simply a cloud. But to me, for a few minutes that evening, it looked like Cinderella floating through the sky.
I’m sharing both the edited and original photographs in this post because I think the difference is interesting. The original shows the moment as my camera captured it, while the edited version shows how I imagined that moment.
Maybe that's the little magic of photography—
