Today I want to share 1 of my experience of yesterday.Experience at Oru restaurant in Faisalabad. We 3....! Me, my friend Vaneeza and my sister Faiza went there. I want to write everything. because it was such a good day and I want to remember it.

Oru also Koryo

Lets Make A Plan

The three of us had been planning a dinner outing for approximately one week. Vaneeza is my best friend from GCUF and also my hostel mate in Faisalabad. Faiza frequently remarks, Api...! you consistently consume your salad bowl in the hostel. Let us go out and enjoy something more substantial, as she was particularly eager to experience authentic Korean cuisine. Consequently, I suggested that we visit Oru.

I had previously encountered the Oru restaurant through Instagram reels, where its interior appeared exceptionally aesthetic and contemporary. The establishment showcased a distinctive Korean architectural style characterized by wooden lighting fixtures and abundant green plants, which immediately captured my attention. Therefore, I had saved the reel approximately one month ago in anticipation of a future visit.

Implementation Of The Plan

Yesterday 6th October was finaly the day. We got ready in my hostel room.We decided Western theme for dinner. We put light makeup, I used my new BBA Pink Love lipstick. Then we booked a ride and went to Oru. The restaurant is not very far from my hostel.

Oru Ambiance

The ambiance at Oru / Koryo was undoubtedly the most captivating aspect of our entire dining experience, transcending the conventional definition of a restaurant and transforming into an immersive cultural encounter. Upon entering the establishment, we 3 friends were immediately enveloped by an atmosphere of warmth and sophisticated comfort that felt distinctly Korean yet contemporary. The illumination strategy was particularly exceptional, as it deliberately avoided the harsh, clinical white fluorescent lighting characteristic of many conventional eateries in Faisalabad. Instead, the space was bathed in a soft, warm amber luminescence emanating from discreetly concealed LED strips integrated into the ceiling architecture and walls, complemented by modern sculptural pendant fixtures resembling luminous discs. This cozy wnd diffused lighting created a flattering and tranquil environment where photography became effortless and visual fatigue was minimal.

Architecturally, the interior reflects a refined minimalist Korean aesthetic infused with playful artistic elements. The walls feature a combination of textured beige plaster and vertically ribbed wooden paneling, conveying an understated sense of luxury and craftsmanship. The focal point remains the gilded stag head installation mounted prominently on the main wall, with the illuminated ORU signage positioned beneath it, establishing an iconic and highly photographable backdrop that epitomizes modern restaurant branding

The Most Splendid Entrance Indeed

The seating was very comfortable. Tables were dark wood with bright orange mats that have the ORU deer logo. Chairs were soft blue-green velvet. You can sit for hours and not get tired. On each table there were small white flowers and orange tissue boxes, very clean and neat. However there was also a big abstract art piece on the wall. Green, brown and white shapes with a halo backlight behind it. The painting litery stole my heart.

One Of The Best Ambiance I Have Experiencd

Lets Place An Order

A waitress came. She gave us menu. The menu was so big. Everything looked delicious. Faiza wanted ramen. Vaneeza wanted fried rice. I wanted corn dogs. because I had seen them only in K-dramas. So we decided to order everything and share. So we ordered all of them.

The whole Menu Is A Vibe In Itself

Chicken Ramen Noodles

When the food came, the bowl was so big. You can see in the photo. The bowl on the left side. The bowl had wavy noodles, chicken slices on top, half boiled egg with orange yolk, green onions, chili flakes.. I mixed the noodles with chopsticks. The chicken was so soft, not dry at all. Faiza said, "Api, this is like the ramen Naruto eats." We all laughed. We ate it with chopsticks. We were not experts, but we tried.

Ramen Soup

Second we ordered Ramen Soup. This one is in the middle bowl. The Ramen soup was different from the first one. This one had more mushrooms, tofu, dumplings, broccoli. There were thin noodles inside a darker broth. The soup had sesame seeds on top and green spring onions. The soup was more light, more healthy. Vaneeza liked this one more because she doesn't like too much spice. She drank the soup like tea. She said it feels like healing soup.

Crispy Corn Dogs

The main attraction Crispy Corn Dogs.. You can see them in the middle of the table on a wooden plate. Two golden brown sticks. Oh my God, they were so crispy. Outside was like a corn coating, fried till golden, inside was chicken sausage with cheese pull. We bit the corn d, the cheese stretched. We had to dip it in ketchup and mustard. This was my favorite. I had never eaten corn dogs before in Faisalabad. In Oru, they made it perfectly crispy outside, soft inside.

Fried Rice With Chiken Chilli Dry

Next we ordered the Fried Rice with Chicken Chilli Dry, which is visible on the right side plate in the photograph. The presentation was quite generous,as it arrived on a large white platter abundantly filled with fragrant garlic fried rice combined with green chilies, red chilies, and diced capsicum, topped with succulent pieces of chicken chilli dry.

The chicken itself was prepared to perfection, initially deep-fried until crispy and subsequently tossed in a balanced mixture of dry chili sauce and oyster sauce. Although the preparation was intentionally not overly saucy, it maintained a distinctively dry and spicy character that complemented the aromatic rice exceptionally well. While the dish possessed a noticeable level of heat that required water, its delicious flavor profile rendered it undeniably satisfying. Ultimately, this particular dish proved to be the most filling component of our meal and contributed significantly to our satiation.

Complimentry Gajras

Now the most special thing they served us complimentary gajras, initially i was so surprised. In Pakistan, gajra is our culture, as white jasmine flowers. The waiter came with three small white gajras and said, "Mam..!These Gajras is complimentary from Oru for all the girls ." We were so happy and we wore them on our wrists immediately. The gajra was so fresh, some flowers fell on the table. I love gajras.

My Favorite Part Of the Day Wearing Gajras

Cold Coffe Time

After consuming all the food, we were completely satiated; despite our fullness, we remained desperate for dessert. We ordered what proved to be the best chocolate cold coffee, served in a tall glass adorned with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a steel straw. The beverage transcended the definition of ordinary cold coffee and resembled a decadent dessert, characterized by its cold, chocolaty, and creamy texture accompanied by ice cubes and chocolate drizzle. Although we initially intended to share a single serving due to our satiety, we subsequently ordered two additional servings owing to its exceptional flavor, which provided a perfect conclusion to the spicy fried rice and salty ramen.

The Best Coffe In The Town

what Are My Final Thoughts?

I came back to my hostel room. I kept the bill as memory, and slept with the smell of gajra still on my wrist. However If someone asks me what was my best day in Faisalabad this month? I will say it was yesterday at Oru restaurant.
