So much has changed since I was a child. The way it was will never be that way again. Yay for progress.... or maybe in some ways, regression.
Take for example how things were made 40 years ago. I can't believe I can say this and that I really have first hand experience and can recall things over 40, even 50, years ago, but I am really that old.
When we were kids manufacturers had pride and created things that would last and last. I had one blow dryer for over 20 years. Now things wear out in a minute. Some Christmas gifts for kids break on first use. I wish every manufacturer stood behind their products like the ones when I was a child and young woman.
Some things were made of wood, like spools for thread. Now they are all made of plastic. I remember mom letting me use the thread spool once she was done and I would use it as Barbie doll furniture or turn it into some animal with a painted on face.
I'm happy for a lot of the advancements that I've seen over the years. Maybe all the phones and electronics are really a bad idea. Life was much more peaceful when we were kids. It is written that people are more stressed and often are very addicted to checking their phones. We left the house at sun up and were gone playing until dinner. You never were late getting home or you were stuck at home the next week cleaning the house or other chores to remind you to listen to your parents.
I really can't speak for kids these days, but I don't see a lot of active kids and most have a constant urge to play or use electronics...just like adults.
Imagine if we all spent more time unplugged?
