Hi everyone 👋
Early last week, there was a giveaway by Chobani. Chobani is a Greek yoghurt company from America and they’ve been selling their yoghurts in some of Australia’s major supermarkets for some time now. We usually have one or two tubs stocked in our fridge for dessert, snack or cooking (making cookies for our furbaby).
Back to last week - we were told by a friend that Chobani was doing a giveaway if you post a picture of your dog’s licking face while they enjoy a Chobani yoghurt (plain flavour as it’s safe for dogs to consume). There was a chance of winning 1 of 200 lickimat. Lickimat? It’s a textured mat you can place your dog’s wet food or treats and they basically lick it off that mat and it’s said to be calming, relaxing, enjoyable to them and it also has health benefits such as cleaning their tongues. If you wish to buy one of these quality lickimats from the store, you can expect to be spending $10-$25 for these depending on size and quality.
The friend who told us about this managed to win one of these lickimats after entering a picture of her dogs and their licking faces so I thought, why not? 1 in 200 is tough as I’m sure there would’ve been many people sending in their photos but nevertheless, I did it for fun.
Here is the photo of Our furbaby, Taro, which I’ve posted for this giveaway. Yes, our Taro has his own Instagram hahaha! It didn’t take more than two hours and Chobani sent a DM saying that they’d love to send us a lickimat and asked for our address to have it posted to! We were so excited as we’ve never entered anything into any giveaway before and we had low expectations of actually being selected or winning!
Fast forward to this week and the parcel from Chobani arrived! Taro is a covid19 iso puppy as we call him as he’s spent most his life in iso with us at home during the pandemic. During this time, we’ve received so many parcels with his dog accessories so any parcels that arrive, he immediately thinks it’s for him. He’s not wrong this time though. He went straight for the parcel and took some time to open it on his own. He was taking a while and I was getting impatient but when I tried to help, he’d snap at me as a way of telling me to leave him and his parcel alone 🙄.
Just as he managed to rip a hole in the packaging, I noticed a card sticking out and quickly grabbed it before he chewed into it. It’s nice to receive hand written cards.
Once he was done, he just jumped off the couch and left me with a mess... as always.
Here’s the lickimat!
This lickimat came just at the right time. Taro has been a bit annoying and picky lately and hasn’t been eating his food. He refuses to eat out of his bowl to be precise and he would eat if you spoon feed him or if I lay his dry food on the floor. I’m not keen to let this go on as I don’t know how long of a phase this is. I read online that dogs get sick of using the same bowl as it’s “boring” and we need to switch it up. We haven’t had time to get him a new bowl yet so we decided to use the lickimat to see how it goes.
He finally ate his food! Such a picky dog, seriously.
I’m still not over the fact that we scored something and I am super thankful because it’s come at the right time and is a life saver. Thank you, Chobani!
