If you want some amazing food and a fun experience, Opal Thai is the place for you!

Located in Chinatown in Honolulu Hawaii is Chef Opal's new restaurant (previously located at the North Shore). I went a few months ago with my girlfriend because we were craving Thai food and we were blown away with how great the experience was and how amazing the food was. As we sat down Chef Opal comes up to us and gets to know us. He asks us where we are from and to name 5 Thai dishes. A few minutes later he comes out with our first course.

We were given a delicious lettuce wrap salad called "Larb". I believe it was minced pork, cabbage, carrots, spring onions, and some other seasonings. Amazing! We were also given chicken wings with a Thai glaze that hit the spot. We were impressed with how well his read on our tastes were!

Soon after Opal yells from the kitchen at us, "You guys like pineapple?". We gave him a nod and a few minutes later our main course was out.

We were given a shrimp dish with flat rice noodles similar to chow mein and a duck curry dish (with pineapple) and white and brown rice. Everything was great and we cleaned the plates! It was one of the best meals we've had.

An older couple was sat next to us and we watched them get questioned by Opal and get surprise dishes. Their appetizers were similar, but I think they had tofu instead of minced pork.

At the end we were so pleased and grabbed a picture with our new pal Chef Opal.
