West Coast and New York elite flock to Montana to flee their cities. They buy homes with cash and destroy the local real estate market. With prices toppling unprecedented levels it leaves the natives homeless. They can no longer afford to live in their hometowns.

The hardest hit areas circle around Western Montana and the Flat Head Valley. The cities of choice, Whitefish, Kallispell and Missoula. Before the covid fiasco shook the United States homes in these areas were 40% lower a year ago than today. In the Bozeman and Whitefish areas homes now average between $650-700K. It's out of reach for most natives as the median income comes in at $30-50k a year.
... just before the pandemic in December 2019, the average home price in Whitefish, a town of 7,700 people just south of Glacier National Park, was $369,450. A year and a half later, that has almost doubled — and the average home price is now $704,000.

The Reason They Come
But they don't only flee to Montana for homes. They come to escape crime ridden democrat ran states. In one weekend some saw unprecedented levels of carnage in their cities.
