Oh wow! Congrats on getting solar panels!!! that IS exciting! I understand your feelings about cutting down trees; it is always so hard to make that choice.

We've done it twice. Our last house had them on the roof, and it looked cool (and worked well). On this place, none of the roofs face the right direction to the sun so we had to put them on pedestals down in the meadow. Having solar brings such a wonderful sense of security. Power goes out a lot around here and often in the winter during storms. So glad we don't have to be concerned about that anymore.
