I did this one a long time ago and forgot about it. Not sure if I've posted it before on steemit, so here goes...

Many of us have proceeded under the wrong assumption that what we think we know is true and so have walked along a path that is a lesser truth. We will identify with the lie we tell ourselves until we understand that what we tell ourselves, what we believe, that was once true for us is no longer valid.
And one may ask: but how do you dispel something that is entrenched so deep?
Examining our beliefs to see which ones hold true and serve us best we may find that most if not all are built on concepts made from outside influences.
If we are bound to these false beliefs of our belief system and proceed as if knowing they are true then somewhere along the line they are going to be challenged which means the self that is bound to the belief will also be challenged.
Identifying with the false self that comes from assumed beliefs can bring about great confusion when challenged and may lead some that are so enamoured with their beliefs to resort to killing to protect their belief system.
The justification is then made to carry on killing in the name of the belief system they would protect by any means.
Religions work this way and insidiously control the believers in a closed loop system where all disparity and doubt is subverted into faith where they will be saved, and if not in this life time then in another one to come, and of course no one has come back to say that this is the only life we get and so the hope remains open that there could be another life after this one, and for most this is all they need to keep them on the treadmill of belief that has been passed down by the religions for a very long time.
It is easy to manipulate people by incorporating into them a belief system to keep them under control and in line even in a system that exploits them, and it is so easy to see that other religions are so blind and ours is the one true one that everyone must follow, or else.
Fear is a tool used by manipulators to subvert and or crush the spirit and influence minds into believing what they are told so that they will do what they are told even when they know it is wrong.
There was time when most believed what was handed down by the governments and were so caught in the system that hardly anyone saw through it, and then the hippy sixties happened and many rose up against the machine, but a few hippies had little chance against such a huge system, but it was the beginning.
It has taken until now for enough people to wake up all over the world and challenge their belief system and begin to replace it with a truth that has profound implications for humanity to pull together as one, to see past our illusory differences and light the spirit to dispel the darkness and finally to cure the sickness of erroneous beliefs that have plagued us all for so long.
When that stone of darkness is turned over in the light of love, what crawls beneath it will be exposed for all to see, and also see where their belief systems come from.
And to paraphrase a wise one: truth is closer to home than anything else.
