Hello Steemians, I know my postings have been sporadic lately, but that will change starting today. Since December I've been working part time, remotely, for an animal rights non-profit and most of that work I was doing in the evening after my day job. Unfortunately that did not leave time left over for much else. However, the remote position was temporary and came to an end this passed week.
I helped make this happen! TAMU has been breeding Golden Retrievers to have a canine form of muscular dystrophy for the purpose of finding a cure for humans, a futile and cruel experiment that PETA is trying to shut down. With all this new free time, not only am I going to work on posting regularly but I am also going to be working on some DIY projects, which of course I'll write about. So far I've mostly been painting old picture frames, but I'm about to step my DIYing up a notch. I have wooden pallets from the store where I work and this week I bought a handheld power saw. Stay tuned for more on that!
Though I am sad about the end of my part time gig with PETA, the timing is actually perfect. My man is slated to come home in April and I want to have all the decorating done by then, and I also have a party to plan! In addition to decorating, building stuff, and planning Babe's homecoming party, I also have to begin the process of getting the girls approved to move to Hawaii. It's a long and grueling process, and I'll include that in some of my posts in case any other Steemians plan on visiting or moving to Hawaii with dogs.
It's been a busy few months, work-wise, and now it's about to get busy in a whole new way. I did, however, have a pleasant break from the busy-ness a couple weeks ago when my cousins 
Can you imagine purposely giving this cutie a painful disease and keeping him locked in a metal cage to suffer until he dies? My heart breaks whenever I see any form of cruelty to animals. Though I no longer work for an animal rights group, I feel it's my duty as a human to spread love and compassion until all are free and no being, human or non, is exploited for someone else's gain. Be the goodness you wish to see in the world, and it will spread.
