Small Seeds, Big Dreams: Attempting to Grow Strawberries, Tomatoes, and Marigolds at Home
Gertrude Jekyll: A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all, it teaches entire trust.
Hello there, Hive gardeners!! Have a wonderful day to you all.
Grow some fruits and flowers with me. 馃槉
This is one of my hundreds of attempts to grow fruit, vegetables, and crops at home. I have failed so many times in the past that I stopped trying. But now, I want to try again. I saw a friend grow some strawberries on her rooftop, so I was inspired again to try. I have a beautiful flower garden full of colorful orchids, hibiscus, roses, and more. I know that growing flowers is totally different from growing fruits and vegetables. It's going to be difficult, but I will try my best. I would appreciate any suggestions from you guys, so please feel free to comment on this post.

So, yesterday, I got some time to germinate my seeds. I bought these seeds online. I only ordered a few just to try.
First, I tried to make plant labels.
I don't want to pay extra for the labels, so I made my own using paper, tape for waterproofing, and a toothpick as the label stand. 馃榿
here are some of my seeds. So tiny and delicate 馃榿
Next, I prepared my seedling tray. It's my old tray. It has 128 slots, but I'm not going to use all of it today. I just want to try a few seeds. I poke a hole in each slot, enough for each seed. I'm not sure how many seeds to put in each hole, so I only put 1.
I have sweet tomato, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and marietta/marigold seeds. The seeds were so tiny that I really need to be careful when handling them to avoid them being blown away.
My tiny furry inspector is here. He's checking my seed label and the seedling tray. 馃榿
I hope I did well.. hehehe
Finally, I gave the seeds a bit of water and put them on the shaded part of my garden. I covered them securely so my tiny inspectors won't see them every time they decide to do a surprise inspection. 馃槀
I've maintained my flower garden for years, but every day, I learn something new. This new challenge of growing fruit may be hard, but I am determined. I am determined to learn, and if it turns out to be another failure, then I'll turn this failure into another lesson.
Well, that's all for today's gardening. I hope I started everything well. If you have any suggestions about growing strawberries, sweet tomatoes, and marigolds, please drop them down in the comments. I would appreciate them, truly.
Thanks a lot for stopping by. Have a wonderful day, everyone!!
