Ambient Darkness!
The fireplace can be lit.
Darkness fills empty spaces
giving softness and tender thought:
to lit a candle, in contrast, is gift!
Sounds from the sparkling fire
fill frozen thoughts with warmth
and wake us, yet again
thank the darkness for the way
to a renaissance in ambient light!
