Several months ago I come up with the idea to create a simple tool that would allow to workout cryptocurrency price based on its market cap change. This tool I made gathered quite a lot of interest from users. As traffic kept increasing, I noticed that many people that land on the website actually wanted to find some price predictions rather than use the tool itself.
Some time ago I heard this saying "Let users decide use case for your product". This is exactly what I did. First I added price prediction function to my initial build which looked like this:
Simply just to test if I'm actually right about users coming to the website to find out about price predictions.
Turns out my gut was right, people started to post their price predictions. I have implemented very basic accuracy check, that simply looked into the predicted price at the given date and worked out the accuracy. Later on, I realised that this method of measuring accuracy is not good enough. With the huge volatility of crypto market 1-hour difference could mean that user prediction was completely off even though it was super close.
Then I realised that I need to remake entire website from scratch and convert it into a platform with much-advanced functionality. I already had enough users to motivate me to do so!
Long story short this is the end result that I want to share with you guys!
