Still the phase through which my life is passing didn’t stop me one bit from creating steemit content and interacting. I know, I’m another semi-addict noob 😬
So I thought I can come up with a few advices, that I hope some of you will find useful.
Safari vs. eSteem
Personal folosesc doua metode:
1. Connecting iOS to Steemit
Personally I use two methods:
a) Safari - or anyother browser (left side of the picture): it has the best behaviour at this moment, from my point of view; the interface looks decent with all options working. Sometimes the menu’s roll-down get a little crowded and tend to jump one over the other, but overall the feeling is good.
b) eSteem (right side): AppStore application; wants to be simillar to facebook’s interface but the distance between the two is still intergallactic; sometimes the app lags in pulling the thumbnails on the feed; moreover there is none (or I couldn’t find) the crypto transfer part (if I’m mistaken please someone correct me).
All tools needed to format text from iOS
2. How to quickly format the text
First of all, as I said a little bit earlier, I recommend the use of Safari for this operation. Along the browser you may use as well the Notepad for writing down important, formating code lines that will be easy to copy and paste when the situation requires it.
If you are going to use eSteem app, the editor inside it has the main code lines ready encrypted in some buttons.
Of course that the attention needed when working on the phone , for typing, getting the cursor where you want it to be or pretty much anything else, is far greater.Still all of this can be solved with patience and practice. iOS is a very versatile and complete opperating system.
When in Safari, working on the editor, if you have to scroll down to check how the preview of the post looks like, be sure to firstly hit the “ok” button on the virtual keyboard. This way you’ll have more space to scroll with your finger.
My photography essentials
3. Aplicatii foto esentiale
3. Essential photography apps
The one thing I consider most important for the iPhone user is to know how to smartly use the entire power of the device he owns. Which isn’t little.
For taking pictures I use in 90% of my time an iPhone X, with it’s native camera application and I can say that it does miracles. This new “Portrait” mode they implemented is incredible and can, in certain conditions, rival high end cameras. It is also very important to know here that there is a button on the main screen of the new iOS, as soon as the light comes on. For newer devices (starting with 6s) this icon is a forcetouch command so if you press it a little harder it will automatically pop up the camera. Feels like pushing a buton.
I consider this a very important aspect for the amateur steemit photographer as being quick is maybe, the main requirement in order not to lose a shot.
Inside my essential photography apps folder I always have the good, old Camera+ with complete extensions aquired as well as Photoshop Mix. I consider them indispensable when it comes to editing photos on the go or stitching together a few things for a fast visual composition. For the latter I use Adobe’s Photoshop Mix which is a great, intuitive tool especially for people used to Photoshop, in general. Almost all the pics here are stiched together with it.
I also use Diptic. It’s a fun, little app with a great interface which for me turned out to be very useful over time (given the fact that I bought the expansions). You can make good, cartoon style photomontages.
Depending on the content situation I may also use:
- Momento - make gifs fast!
- Prisma and Photofox - when you wanna go full artistic in your photos.
This article, as others before it, is entirely realised on the iPhone. Though steeming on a computer may look like it is easier (and it should be), we can’t speak about the future of the platform without speaking about mobility. Mobility, as you well know, is a key aspect in our day to day life.
I would be curious to hear your feedback on how readable is this post on the device you are using.
Also if you liked what you read and you think that something in the article is helpful to you or to anybody you know, please don’t hesitate to share it. Drop me a line if this should become a series of in-depth material on how to easily create quality, fresh content for Steemit on the iPhone.
