Rangoli:Kolam is the name given to the art of rangoli. We do this art form daily and in some festive season. You can see these rangoli or Kolam drawn in front door and gate of every house in Tamil Nadu. And also in some part of kerala. Kambi Kolam or the sikku Kolam is drawn with dot as base.
Hindus believes that these Kolam is drawn with rice flour in the entrance and in pooja rooms is to invite Goddess Lakshmi to the house, and keep away the negative energy Or the evil spirits. Another reason for using rice flour is to feed small insects and ants.
