Do you remember that a few weeks ago I told you about the project I'm working on with my brother @sawko ? Well we are still working on it and I would like to share with you an article related to the main idea of our entrepreneurship.
by the way, we would like you to take a look at our website www.chessbrothers.com and tell us how it is, let us know if you have any recommendations or anything like that. Chess needs to reach more people and more importantly, we need to break the stereotype that many have about chess that it is a "boring game. This tool (chess) can become the best prevention of degenerative diseases. Help us to boost this initiative, the best is yet to come.
Please enjoy the post:
Do you think that someday you will come across a magic lamp that will automatically fulfill your wishes, like being a successful person, for example?
It might work for some people, metaphorically, but usually in life solutions to problems are not so magic or automatic.
Alright, you may disagree with me but when it comes to a game of chess, your decisions matter. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you have to become the world chess champion to understand that exercising your neurons is something that can help you solve problems in your daily life.
Chess is a super powerful tool that teaches you how to overcome obstacles while keeping you mentally healthy. Let me explain:
One of the most important aspects about chess is that it improves your brain performance.
Yes, chess is an excellent instrument that improves memory. In fact, many experts agree that this factor enhances your chances of not suffering from degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer.
How is this possible?
This is because "this game" includes a lot of concepts related to tactics and strategy, things that you always have to keep in mind to carry out everything on the board , so you must be constantly thinking about the best continuation to follow. Moreover, your brain is recognizing patterns to propose a solution to a particular position, that is, your brain will always be on. Another really important thing to consider is that when you use your hands to move a piece from one square to another, your neurons are working hard to make it happen, turning into highly beneficial motor reactions for health. Of course there are more and more benefits that you can draw from the practice of chess. The important thing is that all of those can be applied in your daily life, why?
the more focused you are, the less likely you are to forget where you left your phone or shoes, for example.
The more rationally prepared you are, the better decisions you can make, such as deciding wisely where to invest your money or deciding which bad habits you should get rid of.
Yes, it's all about bad moves and good moves....
But as I said at the beginning, there is no magic formula for everything. Sometimes you feel like you have to bang your head against the wall over and over, learning the hard way, until you can figure out what was going wrong. Of course there are plenty of "mental exercises" available out there that you can try to keep your brain healthy and they are "okay", but modestly chess is, without a doubt, in my humble opinion something that you got to give a shot.
Great, we've talked a lot about rational things, but what about the rest of the body?
I'm sure you've heard the famous phrase "healthy body healthy mind" right? Honestly, I couldn't agree more with this quote. You can't separate the mind from the body and vice versa, it's as simple as that.
In other words, when you start training your mind and body in a systematic way you will start to realize that you had some kind of superpower sleeping all this time, waiting to be woken up. You'll find that things will go more smoothly. You will be super active and with the ability to better calculate your moves and those of others in your workplace, school, social environment, etc.
How is this possible, why is exercise soooo good?
When you exercise, you are simply choosing the best activity to get your blood flowing.
The heat produced by your muscles raises your body temperature, so you realize that your heart is beating like a drum, which means it's pumping even more blood to your working muscles. That's why you start breathing faster, so that your blood can pick up more oxygen from your lungs to supply your muscles.
This is a really cool proccess we could talk for hours but what should really matter to us is that when we are exercising we are getting: stress relief, better mood and better quality of sleep. We’re also reducing anxiety problems due to stress, slowing cognitive decline, improving memory, increasing memory, concentration. (which means you have to focus on one thing, yes, one thing, no distractions, until you get it), among other things.
sounds familiar, doesn't it?
It can't be a coincidence that chess and physical training have an awesome connection.
It is not a matter of magic that the best chess players in history have been so long-lived and with a physical condition that could be compared to that of world champions in other sports.
But where to start?. Trying to take the first step can be overwhelming because there is so much information currently available, swirling around in our heads. Our advice is: start with the basics, this is what will guarantee you a solid foundation for the future.
Small daily improvements are the key to unimaginable results, and guess what, chess allows you to understand that winning a game is the product of the accumulation of small advantages, in other words, patience and perseverance.
All of this produces significant improvements in the brains and bodies of children, adults and the elderly.
Play chess and keep fit...!
