Just a year ago, 72 people were burnt to death in a multi-storied building in London this day. This fire was destroyed by the burning of many more people, the arranged family. The fire that started from a small five-storey granalf tower tower, in the next few hours, became the most devastating fire in Britain after World War II. And the horrors of this fire started to touch the people of the world.
Soon it became clear that it was not a common fire. Not only because of the number of deaths, residents of this tower block have come from so many different nations and nations that a real international disaster took place in Grenfell fire.
The relatives of Grenfell residents are scattered all over the world. Afghanistan to Australia, Bangladesh to Gambia More people from all over the world lived in a tower - Colombia, Dominica, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Italy, Iran, Ireland, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, the Philippines, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Spain, Sudan, Syria and Trinidad.
Kamaru Mia was 79 years old. In 1963 he came to Britain. He was 26 years old. In Britain he first took a job in a unemployment. Then he became a talented chef.
When the fire broke out in the Grenfell Tower, Kamru Mia was in his flat on the eighth floor of the building. Along with his second wife Rabeya Begum, son Mohammad Hamid and Mohammad Hanif and daughter Husna Taniima Begum.
The eldest son Mohammad Hakim did not live in the flat. Shortly after that he went to another place.
When Kamrul Mia and family members were calling for a firefighting around the building, a phone call went five thousand miles away in a remote village in Bangladesh. Kamru Mia's first wife, Zulfiqi Bibi, took the children to Kailashura village of Moulvibazar.
Julia Bibi was then in the house with son Sujon. Sujon only returned from the mosque. Preparing to go to bed for sleeping. When a phone call came from his cousin Abdur Rahim from London.
From the other side of the telephone, Abdur Rahim said, 'The fire was set on the house of the uncle. He prayed for him. '
A little later the phone rang. Now that horrible bad news came
"I have seen uncle in an open window, he shouts to me, Abdur Rahim, save me, but I can not do anything to save the uncle."
"There is no hope of saving your child." There is no hope of saving him. "Abdur Rahim from London told his cousin Sujon in the village of Bangladesh.
Abdur Rahim gave many other terrible descriptions of the incident. How did the honest sister of Sujon get stuck in a bathroom in the flat of the Grenfell Tower with his mother? They realized they had no hope of survival. So they wanted to pray for everyone.
Hussana Begum said, "It's our voice, we can not hear our words."
Then all hope ran out.
After the death of Kamru Mia, the body of first wife Zulika Bibi was broken. There are also psychological injuries, there have been many other effects of the tragedy on the family.
"He used to send money for us, now we are very helpless, I am an old lady, I need medicine, my son buys medicine for me, but I know it's a lot of burden on him."
"My husband told me to take me to Hajj, now it is not."
Kamru Mia's elder daughter Mina Maulabibazar is near her ancestral home.
The relationship between parents was very close. Mina started crying while remembering her father
I was my father's most beloved daughter. I was his whole world. When I returned to Bangladesh last time, I had rice in my own hands. This will not happen again in this life. "
"We took some pictures together with the service, I did not know that we were going to meet. If I knew that I would have taken pictures of each of his steps."
After the death of Kamru Miyar, the whole family's burden has now come upon the eldest son.
"My father used to come every year to come to Bangladesh and bring clothes for us and bring chocolate to grandsons and grandchildren."
"We sent money for us. We could not have built this house without his money."
Sujon said, it is difficult to run the family with the income from the house. But it is the biggest trouble for him, that his father could not give a last farewell.
"I want to see my father's grave, where he is dead, I want to see the place, that may give me some peace." On his first death anniversary, we are teaching a prayer in the village mosque where poor people will be fed.
