Earlier today I saw the latest photo post from @velimir and replied that I would post a photo I have that was inspired by him. So, I'm a man of my word. If I say I'm going to do something, I do it. I was about to close up shop for the night and realized I had not lived up to my end of the bargain with you here at Steemit, regardless that nobody probably saw what I said!
I get inspiration from every other photographers' work I see. It's exciting. What stopped me in my tracks with @velimir is his use of abstract and what I assume are cropped views that he visualizes and captures with a camera. But he doesn't stop there. In true Steemian fashion he weaves a story or a tale, if you will, that makes you think and pause if but for a moment.
Truth be told this, here, is a heavily cropped photo. It used to have a lot more surroundings but to me they distracted instead of informed. This spot was crazy. I had to thrash through heavy undergrowth, over unseen rocks and forks of the stream. It seemed all for not. What I could see in front of me with my eyes I could not transfer into imagery in the viewfinder. It was overwhelming, including being very loud with the crash of the water and the 75 foot waterfall a few yards away.
The image sat dejected in a file on a hard drive, sure that its chances of being seen were slim to none. But then I started to follow this photographer who drove me back to look at the image one more time and that was all it took. In front of, literally, tens of thousands of other images I have from near and far, I present to you, "The Rush." Fast moving water on a late summer morning, eager to fly into space, only to be smashed on the rocks below and be carried off on its journey to the sea.
