The Hermetic Principles

The Hermetic principles are written in a book titled "The Kybalion", published by a person(s) using the pseudonym "The Three Initiates". It is based on the teachings of a revered sage of the past known as Hermes Trismegistus, this name translates to "thrice greatest" referring to his master of the 3 planes of existence, explained in the hermetic philosophy as the mental, physical and spiritual. In ancient Egypt he was known as Thoth and in Greece as Hermes. Each chapter of "The Kybalion" is devoted to 1 of the 7 hermetic principles, these principles are considered the laws of the universe. The hermetic principles go back thousands of years but can be applied to the modern day quite well, reading "The Kybalion" with an open mind will lead to inner standing of the core essence of these laws from a universal point of view.

Hermetic means "secret", "esoteric" and/or "occult", it refers to the knowledge that is in correspondence with the conduct of the universe. One who understands these laws is wise and may use them to benefit their journey to mastery of the 3 planes of existence. In an everyday setting this information is helpful to come to terms with the fundamental aspects of the their life, the world and their place in both. It is said that this book or it's teachings will appear in your life when the timing is Divine as you must be ready to receive the knowledge.
The 7 Principles;

​1. The principle of Mentalism;
-he who grasps the concept that the universe is of a purely mental nature is well advanced on the path to mastery.

1. The principle of Correspondence;
   -As above, So below... As within, So without...
2. The principle of Vibration;
   -All is vibration, the higher the vibration the higher the position on the spectrum. The spirit is vibrating so high that it is almost at rest. "He who understands the power of vibration, has grasped the scepter of power."
3. The principle of Polarity;
   -Everything is dual, everything has poles, everything is a pair of opposites, like and unlike are the same. Opposites are identical in nature but different in degree, extremes meet. All truths are but half truths: all paradoxes must be reconciled.
4. The principle of Rhythm;
   -Everything flows, out and in, everything has its tides, all things rise and fall.
   The pendulum swing manifests in everything.
5. The principle of Cause & Effect;
   -Every cause has its effect, every effect has its cause: everything happens according to this law, chance is but a name for unrecognized law. There are many planes of causation, nothing escapes this law.
6. The principle of Gender;
   -Gender is in everything: everything in existence has feminine and masculine expression, gender manifests on all planes of existence.
